biotechnology and the changing dynamics of health care delivery are transforming the landscape of today’s patient-centered care—and the ways in which patients can participate in their own care. new york medical college’s (nymc) master of science (m.s.)in biomedical ethics and humanities and certificate in biomedical ethics and humanities programs challenge students to think about social and philosophical concepts within the framework of biomedical ethics. through methodological and substantive training, these rigorous academic programs teach students to confront medical ethics issues in the real world.


questions about who we are, what we deem important, and what kind of society we ultimate choose to live in are all framed through the lens of health and medicine. at the intersection of bioethics and society, we offer courses that use historical, philosophical, legal and social-scientific approaches and models to address bioethical challenges.
